It looks cooler, lol. I mean, it GLOWS.

I think that might be it, but I'm not sure. I've never used a chaos axe so I don't know its stats or anything.

Because its still slashing dmg i dont think its any better... it just looks way cooler.... try red dye on one, it glows green

just the same thing as fiery dragon sword and a short sword with a fiery hilt... theres no difference other then the looks isnt there?

Chaos Axes look like the little plastic weapons that came with late 80s - era action figures. Why do people want them? Because they're somewhat rare, and gaudy as all hell.

I've determined that money doesn't matter in this game unless you can rub it in everyone's faces. What does that better than a gigantic, blinding white display of no taste? People buy Chaos Axes, Storm Bows, Fissure Armor, and the like because they are not only rare, but so gaudy that people simply cannot help noticing them.

Peace,
-CxE

Well i have to agree with you that the Choas, Fissure armor, and Flaming Whatsyouhaveit's are just symbols of money, but ask yourself, what is there left to do with all that money once you have it!

Go to Uw or FoW 50 million times. That is what you can do with money, and also get lots of skills.

There is some part of RPG's in general that require rich players to flaunt money. If the devs didn't embrace this they wouldn't have put such items ingame -even if they don't believe in it.

If you dye a blue chaos axe with a red dye it turns green. If you dye a green chaos axe purple it turns gold.

Wink There is a diference

For the longest time i figured it was all for looks.
But in true there is a something to it.
The chaos axe, just like its name says, it does chaos dmg.
chaos dmg, diferent then elemental dmg ( elemental only works
on creatures weak to them ) as no actual defences to it. there is no
such things as a mentra vs chaos dmg or a spell that will
defend agaist it. i'm not totally sure about regular armor , but
skills like frost armor and such ( spells that gives more physical armor )
dont work againts chaos axes.
